Taking cues from iconic menswear styles, the editorial just as with VII Winners, brings together properly pressed individuals with the aim of showcasing their interpretations of style. The editorial serves as a testament that what is Prep to one is not necessarily Prep to others. The first of a multi-editorial series draws inspiration from Collegiate or Prep style which was popularized in the 1940′s-1950′s.
Properly Pressed: To take pride in dressing; being well groomed
Quintessential Prep stems from East Coast collegiate traditions. Its style is defined by structured silhouettes ranging from the button-down oxfords and penny loafers, to the essential varsity jacket and Bermuda shorts. It breeds a sartorial sensibility that is just as prevalent today as it was over 50 years ago. The creative direction of this editorial was informed by California Prep’s laid back and beach front cool aesthetics. Our aim was to showcase our beloved Cali’s laid back nature and its ability to give off and aura of effortless sophistication.
